Ashley & Mike:: Married by Candlelight :: Willowdale Estate

Ashley and Mike were married by candlelight on a misty afternoon in late November.

Their ceremony was nothing less than sacred, an intimate crowd gathered together in the conservatory at Willowdale Estate to bear witness. The scent of rosemary and burning wood drifted through the old rooms where there was dancing, and celebrating, and the taking of portraits.

What a beautiful tone was set by these two on their wedding day, unlike any other I’ve ever photographed. Full of romance and warmth, I know their marriage will be filled with these qualities as the years pass.

My first photography event after the birth of my daughter, I was pleased with how fortunate I felt to spend the day photographing these two, how focused I was on the work, how grateful I was for the sharp second shooting skills of Sheryl Lanzel, and how blessed I was to come back home to a sleeping babe.
