Loft + Loyal Nine Wedding // Boston & Cambridge

Loft + Loyal Nine Wedding // Boston & Cambridge

An airy and lovely wedding in Boston and Cambridge, we began at the Ames Hotel, then wedded at a South Boston Loft, and capped the evening with photos and a delicious meal at Loyal Nine in Cambridge.

As part of a thoughtful and radiant ceremony, guests came forward to bestow seven blessings upon the couple. As I captured the events of the day, I saw these blessings mulitiplied and returned to guests, family, friends and all.

From the sharing of poetry, to the sharing of a meal, to shared space withing rings of candlelight, Fen and Justine created a space of radiance and belonging that really shines through in their wedding photographs.

Fen and Justine were married at in a private loft at 60 K Street Studios in South Boston. The ceremony was followed by dining and dancing at Loyal Nine Restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The catering was provided by Loyal Nine and Sofra. The couple and their guests stayed at the Ames Hotel Boston.

Attire was by Everthine Bridal and Bindle & Keep.

When I first met the groom prior to the wedding, I asked him about the ring he wore on his hand. “It belonged to my grandfather,” he said. For their wedding the couple made a second ring, a new promise, in the style of the first. These were the rings, the heirloom and the promise, that they exchanged on their wedding day.

I too have an heirloom wedding ring. It belonged to my grandmother, and I keep it tucked away in a shoe from my wedding.  I wear the ring from time to time. I wonder what stories it would tell: of the young woman who first wore it on her wedding day, of the lifetime of marriage it witnessed, of its secret longings there in my shoebox!

These rings would surely tell a story about the pair who chose one another, and the day when they brought everyone together to witness the vows, dance the dance, drink the wine and share the meal.

May the story of the two of you always be your favorite story to tell. Congratulations, S & E.
