Its hard to believe that when I first met with Melissa and Ryan this past January to talk about their wedding photography we were perfect strangers. I walked out of that meeting feeling like we were all old friends (the three martinis may have helped). These two love people, and a good time, and each other. And its infectious.

When I found out I was pregnant, I called my best friends, my family, and then I called Melissa and Ryan. My due date had been set very close to their wedding date. They were not only totally excited for me, they also trusted me to take care of their photography arrangements in the event that the baby came early and I could not be there. So I assembled my dream team of second shooter/backup photographer Amber and photo assistant Stephanie.

And at 9 months pregnant I was still feeling great on my feet and at work, so we were all three able to cover Melissa and Ryan’s wedding day. And it was wonderful.

Succulents, parasols, vintage doorknobs and keys. Highlights include a joyous first look in the Italian garden, the succulent bouquets (so nice), the twinkle light chandeliers in the Hall at Elm Bank, and the huge hug these two gave me in their traditional Korean Hanboks as I was leaving for the night.

Many blessings to the two of you as you start your married life together. I’m so glad to have witnessed its beginnings.
